More Armstrongist religious stupidity

Thanks to Pasedena Guy 10 of Wordwide Church of God Alumni blog, he found this scary, blasphemous and equally stupid stuff bandied about on xcgdom:

Armstrongites Cultists Say Jesus Made Mistakes Like HWA Did

The HWA idolatry is still alive and well in the splinter cults. Get a load of the absurd reasoning in the following comment on Yahoo:

Quote:

But he grew into Godly character, to become like God, per the
instruction of Christ in the Scriptures. And please, let’s not pick
on Mr. Armstrong for his mistakes. After all, Jesus Christ, as the
Logos, made mistakes in some of His judgements,
as Moses pointed out
to Him. Whatever mistakes Christ, HWA or any other Godly people make
are INADVERTANT mistakes
, since their INTENT is always to do what is
right and good, and so they are eminently
forgivable.

The absolute absurdities attached to Herbie and his degenerate life are totally glossed over by these brainwashed cultists

 Editor’s note:

Never fear! I have something that refutes this blasphemy from none other than the book from the late Joseph Martin Hopkins, The Armstrong Empire where he refutes the long-standing destructive doctrine that was held in the historic WCG that Jesus had “sinful flesh”.

But what of Hebrews 13:8, “jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever”? If his nature is constant, what does it mean for him to evolve? Why, if he inherited sinful human nature, did he never offer sacrifices (to atone for his sin, even though he committed no sins), never pray for fogiveness (although he prayed that others might be forgiven), never acknowledged moral weakness or failure? Why does the New Testament depict him as “holy” (Luke 1;35), as “holy, blameless, unstained, separated from sinners” (Heb. 7:26), as being “without blemish” (Heb. 9:14 and I pet. 1:19), as one in whom “there is no sin” and who us righteousness” (I John 3:5, 7)? Guided by these and similiar Scriptures, the historic Westminster Assembly framed the following statement:

The Son of god, the second Perspn in the Trinity, being very and eternal God, of one substance, and equal with the Father, did, when the fullness of time was come, take upon him man’s nature with all essential properties and common infirmities thereof, yet without sin: being conceived by the power of the Holy Ghost, in the womb of the Virgin Mary, of her substance. So that two whole, perfect, and distinct natures, the Godhead and the manhood, were inseparably joined together in one person…Which person is very God and very man, yet one Christ, the only Mediator between God and man.

I hope all are comforted with the sword of truth given above!!!
