Johnny Cash’s version of ‘Personal Jesus’

This coming September, it will mark 7 years that good ol’ Johnny Cash went home with the Lord but his seems years after his passing this guy can’t stop making music. He even has his own version of  “Personal Jesus”, which was an originally an 80’s hit from British group Depeche Mode. To all Johnny Cash fans, I hope you will enjoy it.

  1. Many people do not realize that Johnny Cash had a legitimate degree in theology!
I found a lot to like about the man, and sometimes dress from head to foot in black, myself. When people ask why, I tell them I’m a fan of Johnny’s.

There’s a lot of good footage on YOUtube, and one of my faves is from the time in the early’70s when Johnny gave Eric Clapton and his then new “Derek and the Dominos” group some exposure on his show. They did their version of an old Chuck Willis tune, called “It’s Too Late”, and after that song, Eric jammed with Johnny and Carl Perkins on some old Rock-a-billy tunes.
