Intelligent quote of the day
April 14, 2008
Controversy for the sake of sin controversy is sin. Controversy for the sake of truth is a divine command.
—Founder of the Christian Research Institute and the original Bible Answer Man, Walter Martin (1928-1989) , who led a ministry on exposing false doctrines against abberant sects and non-Christian cults and is now under the direction of Hank Hanegraaf today

Maybe I’m missing something on this quote? It’s not even coherent much less intelligent, unless I’m not reading it correctly.

WCG associated with HanK Hanegraaf at exactly the wrong time to help their credibility. Hank was in the middle, and still is of his own financial, office staff and religious abuses. Many feel he stole Martin’s organization for himself and Martin’s wife says that Martin never appointed Hanagraaf to succeed him in any way. On top of this, Hanagraaf is considered by many evangelicals to be off the mark in his theology and is hardly an accurate “Bible Answer Man.”
Hank is not well respected in many circles and of course, this would have to be the one WCG turns to to find acceptance. Nice move!

Hanegraaff’s qualifications for his position and his right to assume it have been the subject of some controversy over the years, most notably from the family of Dr. Walter Martin. Mr. Hanegraaff does not have any formal training in the Bible, nor does he have a degree in theology.
Many others, including pastors, have similar concerns about Mr. Hanegraaff. One pastor wrote this in response to a letter from a woman (not a member of his congregation), who was crusading to keep GFI classes from being taught at his church and others:
“…Most critics have relied on the findings of others, most notably Hank Hanegraaff and the Christian Research Journal. Regarding Mr. Hanegraaff, I have not found him or his publication to be particularly credible or accurate in what he says or writes. He never publishes counter-point positions to his own, and refuses to engage in either debate, mediation, or arbitration with the Christian organizations he has attacked. He makes pronouncements ex cathedra and that should trouble every thinking Christian…”
Ok, nuff said. I still don’t understand the quote

I got it…
“”Controversy for the sake of Controversy is sin. Controversy for the sake of truth is a divine command.” - Dr. Walter Martin

Why would Martin who was a man of integrity appoint Hank? Did Hank market himself as something other than the religious charlatan that he is? It certainly looks that that would be the case!
Hank like Tkach stole the church. Nothing more!
Well ok, just a little more. I am thankful that Tkach Sr. took and torched Herbies doctrines of deceit! Without JT’s changes I might still be a blue ribbon tithe slave! Then again, perhaps not. It did not take much time to figure out JT Juniors approach as he tried to save the financial health of a dying cult! He begged like the dog he is. He and his circle of deceivers would take any step to separate themselves from from what Armstrongism did to the membership. This to prevent any form of lawsuits that might follow.
Indeed, it is amazing that they have never had a class action lawsuit filed against them! I guess people just give up or are embarresed when they are conned and screwed!
